Season 1

Episode 1

Two homes from two Manitoba companies making waves in the energy efficient building industry. The KITHOUSE Premiere is a net zero ready home that comes pre-cut and ready to assemble. And Greenstone Structural Solutions Ice Panels are a high performance, composite building envelope system used to build long lasting, energy efficient buildings.

Episode 2

Two homes from very opposite ends of the spectrum. An off-grid, solar powered compound that has been occupied by the same resident for forty years, and Manitoba’s first certifiedPassive House. A dream home nestled in 80 acres of Aspen forest.

Episode 3

We venture into the city to visit two very different homes designed around Passive House principals. An old 1947 home that has been retrofitted and a family who tore down their old house and built a new one in it’s pace.

Season 2

Episode 1 - Modular

Bison Modular Homes provides building solutions to First Nations communities across Canada. Dennis Day, a resident of Norway House Cree Nation, has recently lost his home in a fire. He works with Bison to build a new modular home and transport it to his property.

Episode 2 - Micro-Cabin

Northgate Trails is located on the North Escarpment of Riding Mountain National Park. Just outside of Dauphin, Manitoba. Mike Branconnier spends a weekend on the trails while sleeping on site, in one of their new Micro-Cabins.

Episode 3 - Retrofit

The Bjornson family have been living in a renovation for the past 8 years in a small family home they purchased in Onanole, Manitoba. The home was in need of some serious upgrades and the young family decided to undergo an energy efficient retrofit.

Episode 4 - Passive

Passive House is the world-leading standard for energy efficiency construction that takes advantage of passive solar heating. After moving to Canada from South Africa, Laurens Blom jumped at the opportunity to live in a Passive home after she finds one up for sale.

Episode 5 - Container Cabin

When a one of a kind cabin built from shipping containers, located on Lake of The Prairies hit the market, The Sneath family purchased it immediately and added their own personal touch to it. Gui Borgstrom rents the cabin for a night when he is in the area for work.

Episode 6 - Earthship

Kim Chase feels a real responsibility to preserving the environment because her generation has used the earth as a commodity. For the past 3 years, she has been living off grid in an Earthship home outside of Clandeboye, Manitoba.
